In Poland, this holiday was first celebrated at the highest state level. President Andrzej Duda on the air of TV channels and radio stations read out the text of the appeal of Donald Trump to the Polish people.
In Warsaw, there were a number of celebrations. At 9 am local time, the flag of the United States was raised at all state and municipal institutions, and a choir of 500 schoolchildren sang the national American anthem on Zamkova Square. At 10 am in the capital, a military parade began with the participation of decommissioned American equipment.
Also during the day, concerts were held with the participation of American and Polish pop stars, and the Warsaw Narodowy Theater performed the play “The Liberators”, dedicated to the US role in the world order and the formation of Polish sovereignty. Festive events were held in other major cities of the country.
Recall that last year the Polish Sejm recognized US Independence Day as a public holiday.
